About Me
I began doing counseling work about twenty-five years ago, through San Francisco Sex Information. As a sexual minority rights activist in San Francisco, I had become interested in sexuality and had begun to realize that people have serious need for accurate, honest information and nonjudgmental counseling. I spent many years with SFSI, as a trainer and in the administration of the organization.
Since then, I have been working in various settings as a counselor, therapist, and clinical supervisor. In addition to my private practice, I have worked at Haight-Ashbury Psychological Services, the Alternative Family Project, the AIDS Health Project, and New Leaf Services.
I have taught classes for clinicians, interns, and the general public at Stanford University, San Francisco State University, the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology, the California Institute for Integral Studies, John F. Kennedy University, the University of California at Davis, and various other schools and venues. I am a BBS-certified provider of continuing education for MFTs and LCSWs.

Interests
Outside the office, I am passionate about motorcycles, backcountry camping, and general outdoorsiness. My love of wild places (and wildness in general) brought me to Burning Man in 1996, and I have continued to be involved in the Burning Man community ever since. I am especially dedicated to my volunteer work with the Black Rock Rangers. I also love crosswords, Buddhist philosophy, and experimental music.
